Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

Kima is an app developed by Boticelli Ventures LLC ("Kima," "we," "us," or "our"). We provide a pet care coordination app and related website, waitlist, support, and account services (the "Service"). The Service is intended primarily for people in the United States. People outside the United States may still visit our website or join the waitlist.

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at support@getkima.com.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account and profile information: name, email, phone number, password, date of birth, gender, timezone, accepted Terms/Privacy timestamps, household membership, referral source, goals, settings, and preferences.
  • Pet and household information: household names, member roles, invite details, pet profiles, photos, species/type, breed, sex, birthday, weight, microchip ID, notes, medications, vaccinations, vet contacts, care schedules, and related health/care records you choose to enter.
  • Care activity and communication data: feeding, walk, medication, weight, mood, task, reminder, comment, message, conversation, streak, achievement, and timeline records.
  • Subscription and purchase data: RevenueCat customer identifiers, product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal/expiration metadata, and purchase/restore events. Payment card details are handled by Apple or Google, not by Kima.
  • Device, diagnostics, and usage data: app version, device type, operating system, IP address, approximate location from IP, device identifiers, crash logs, performance diagnostics, screens/features used, session IDs, and analytics event properties.
  • Advertising data: ad display and interaction data and device/ad identifiers used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads. Kima uses non-personalized ads by default.
  • Website and waitlist data: email address, optional name, source, IP address, cookie/analytics consent choice, and website analytics only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Support data: messages you send us, support-ticket details, device/app context, subscription status, household/pet counts, and any files or screenshots you provide.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide accounts, households, pet profiles, care logs, tasks, reminders, messages, deep links, shared invites, and support.
  • Generate summaries, care insights, reports, streaks, achievements, and benchmarks where available.
  • Process Premium subscriptions, restores, entitlement checks, and related customer support.
  • Send service messages, onboarding emails, waitlist launch notifications, support replies, push notifications, reminders, and optional product communications.
  • Monitor reliability, investigate bugs, secure the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
  • Measure site and app usage and improve features.
  • Serve and measure non-personalized ads in the free app experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. AI Insights and Pet Health Data

Kima may use care records, pet profiles, activity history, and related household data to generate optional insights, summaries, and reports. These features may use OpenAI or similar AI service providers acting on our behalf.

Kima is not a veterinary provider. AI insights are informational coordination tools only and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. You should consult a qualified veterinarian for pet health decisions.

5. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses a required local storage value to remember your analytics cookie choice. Google Analytics loads only if you select "Accept analytics." You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

The mobile app may send first-party analytics events to Kima so we can understand product usage and reliability. When configured, Kima may forward app analytics to Google Analytics/GA4.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We also do not share pet care records with third parties for their independent marketing. We share information in these limited ways:

  • Your household: pet profiles, care logs, messages, tasks, comments, and related information are visible to household members according to their role.
  • People you invite or share with: invite links, shared pet links, and shared activity links may reveal the information shown in that link to anyone who receives it.
  • Service providers: vendors that help us operate Kima, including cloud hosting/storage, email, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, subscriptions, ads, and AI processing.
  • App stores and payment platforms: Apple, Google, and RevenueCat process and verify subscriptions, purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and entitlement status.
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect users, pets, Kima, or the Service.
  • Business transfers: information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a successor policy.

7. Service Providers

Kima's providers may include Amazon Web Services/S3 or similar storage, Rails/cloud hosting providers, Expo push notifications, Resend email, Sentry diagnostics, Google Analytics/GA4, Google AdMob, RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play, OpenAI, and support tooling. Providers may process information only to provide services to Kima or as described in their own terms and policies.

8. Children and Teen Users

Kima does not allow accounts for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We use date of birth during registration to block under-13 account creation.

If you are 13 to 17, you may create an account only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to the Terms and this Privacy Policy and is responsible for your use of Kima.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to Kima, contact us at support@getkima.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. Retention and Account Deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, secure the Service, and maintain business records.

You can request account deletion in the app. Deleted accounts enter a 30-day grace period so you can reactivate by logging back in. After that period, we delete or anonymize personal account data while preserving records that must remain for household integrity, legal compliance, security, or legitimate business purposes.

Some information may remain visible to other household members if it is part of shared household care history, but it will no longer identify a deleted user where our systems support anonymization.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including TLS in transit, password hashing, access controls, monitoring, and provider security controls. No internet service is perfectly secure, so you should use a strong password, keep your device secure, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized account access.

11. Your Choices and Rights

  • Update account, household, pet, notification, and support information in the app where available.
  • Turn optional push notifications on or off in the app or device settings.
  • Restore or manage subscriptions through Apple or Google.
  • Change website analytics consent through Cookie Settings.
  • Request access, correction, deletion, export, or opt-out help by emailing support@getkima.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under state, federal, or international law. We will honor applicable rights after verifying your request.

12. International Visitors

The Service is intended primarily for people in the United States. If you access the website or waitlist from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have data protection rules different from your country.

Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers and provide applicable privacy rights. You can contact support@getkima.com for privacy requests.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Kima changes. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy with a new date and may notify you in the app or by email where appropriate.
